Now, as a makeup artist I have a particular fondness for micellar cleansers because I’m often having to remove existing makeup before I can apply my own look and the great thing about them is they don’t leave an oily residue like a makeup remover would, and you don’t need water to remove them like you would a traditional cleanser. This means I can remove makeup in one step and have skin prepped and ready for makeup in minimal time.
What is Micellar?
The name comes from the tiny micelles which act like magnets to attract dirt, excess sebum and make-up without stripping the skin or leaving a residue.
So what’s unique about the Ultraceuticals Ultra B2 Micellar Solution? Well it really comes down to the ingredients here. The B2 Technology hydrates skin, while Cucumber Extract refresh and revives. It definitely feels a lot more luxe and my skin felt amazing afterwards. In fact, I've since been using it at the studio and almost everyone comments that it makes their skin feel so soft.
I also found the texture quite unique when compared to other micellar cleansers I’ve tried. It doesn’t evaporate on the skin immediately, but lingers just enough to add a hydrating veil to the skin, not oily at all but almost like a drink of water . It picks up all traces of makeup extremely well, particularly shimmery or glittery shadows which are often very stubborn. You actually don’t need to too much of this on a cotton pad, in fact I find a little goes a long way.
It’s paraben free, soap free, and of course alcohol free, which means it’s suitable for all skin types and in particular sensitive skin.
