Spring Favourites

Having wrapped up 16 shows at New Zealand Fashion Week with the Smashbox team I feel as though I've almost got through all of the things I'd put on hold to make it through the busy stretch, and am so excited to welcome in the first few days of Spring! Looking forward to feeling the heat of the sun again and enjoying many mojitos and lazy Sunday BBQs to come! Here are some of the things I'm loving at the moment...

Trilogy Eye Contour Cream

If you’re over the age of 20 you should be using an eye cream; after all, the eye area is one of the first places to show signs of ageing. This gel-cream is full of botanical actives to take care of the delicate skin around the eyes, reducing the appearance of puffy, tired looking eyes and restore them back to former glory.

Dermalogica Daily Cleansing Shampoo & Daily Conditioning Rinse

Normally I wouldn’t suggest washing your hair every day but these are so gentle that it’s not going to cause any damage. The shampoo has antioxidant rich Coconut, Argan and Avocado oils to gently cleanse while making your hair soft and shiny and also protecting it from sun damage. However, it’s the Conditioning Rinse I particularly love because it replenishes the hair with moisture without weighing it down; instead it leaves the hair with shine and bounce.

Maybelline Master Fix Wear Boosting Setting Spray

Master Fix is a translucent, lightweight mist which sets your makeup in place for longer. It doesn't leave skin sticky or shiny but it does nicely take away that sort of flat look that you often get when you've *just* finished applying your makeup or also from over powdering.

Guerlain Abeille Royale Day Cream

Abeille means "bees" in French and this range launching on the 11th September is a testament to the miraculous benefits honey, beeswax, and royal jelly can have for skin. The formula for this day cream is an oil-in-water emulsion and it leaves a gorgeous silky texture to the skin, while deeply hydrating. This is the formula for normal to combination skin and they do have another cream for dry skin but I found this one to be extremely nourishing and long lasting, so only go for the Rich version if you like a very rich cream. The cream absorbs quickly and leaves a beautiful soft base for makeup. It even comes with a little spatula to avoid contaminating the cream with your fingers over time.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Liquid Lipsticks

The holy grail of matte lipsticks. I bought these overseas in a few colours and I already want more. They go on as a liquid so you can get a super crisp clean line but they dry totally matte so they don’t wear off as quickly and are smudge proof. So if you’re heading off on a trip coming up, definitely check these out. Alternatively a lot of brands that are currently available in NZ are catching on and bringing out their own similar ranges.

Lululemon The Reversible (Big) Mat

I literally just bought this and confess I never saw the point in paying much for a yoga mat but because I’m pretty tall (6’2”) I love the larger mat size which allows me to stretch out fully. It’s cushy enough for me and for once don’t have either my head or my feet resting on the ground. Life changing
