I have a new addition to my night time regime at the moment, which is the recently released overnight retinol repair 1% from Dermalogica. It’s a clinical-strength treatment cream that really does actively target and address skin ageing.
The bones of the new formula is pure Vitamin A, a highly active form of retinol, which is without a doubt the leading anti-ageing ingredient in skincare today. Retinol has been clinically proven to dramatically reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone, and combat free radical damage to prevent further signs of ageing.
So what I’ve often found with retinol creams before is they can sometimes cause irritation and dryness as your skin adjusts to the concentration of retinol. The great thing about this one is that it comes with a seperate Buffer Cream so you can control the concentration of retinol being applied to the skin. Start off with less retinol and more buffer cream mixed together and then gradually increase the amount of retinol cream as your skin adjusts to the formula.
It’s important to apply any product with retinol in only at night as it naturally increases sun sensitivity, and for that reason I also included in the flatlay above a new favourite sunblock of mine, the dermalogica oil free matte spf30 which prevents shine throughout the day and feels nice and sheer to wear.
Due to the expert strength of this product, Overnight Retinol Repair 1% will only be available to purchase in store at authorised Dermalogica stockists on recommendation from qualified skin therapists and will not be available to purchase online from dermalogica.co.nz.
